50 before 40

As a traveler and adventurer, these are the 50 things I want to do before I reach the age of 40.

The Beach 

       1. visit all the 11 countries of Southeast Asia

       2. swim with whale sharks in Donsol or Oslob, Philippines (March 2014, Oslob, Philippines)

       3. jog on the Great Wall of China (April 2014)

       4. surf in Bali, Indonesia (February 2019)

       5. have a relaxing bath in a hotspring in Iceland 

       6. watch my favorite tennis player, Rafael Nadal, play live (October 2010, ATP 250 Thailand Open)

       7. scuba dive in any of the pristine warm waters of Southeast Asia (February 2019, Duka Bay, Misamis Oriental, Philippines)

       8. spend the night at the uninhabited Maya bay on Phi Phi leh island, Thailand. The filming location of the movie "The Beach"

       9. travel across Philippines by land from Luzon to Mindanao (March 1993,         March 1997)

      11. embark on a US concert tour with an award-winning choir (July 2006,         Philippine San Beda Male Singers)

      12. organize a medical outreach/mission with Klement ‘09

      13. perform any bass-baritone recitative of Handel’s Messiah

      14. hike the Inca trail in Peru and experience Machu Picchu

      15. have a photograph with the Eiffel Tower in the backdrop

  16. watch a live international pro basketball game (February 2011, Philippine Patriots vs. Thailand Slammers, ASEAN Basketball League, Bangkok, Thailand)

     17. ride a Greyhound bus from east coast to the west coast of the United States of America (July 2006)

 18. hangout at night in Time Square, New York, USA (August 2006)

     20. participate in international choral festivals (Taiwan, July 2005. Spain, September 2006)

     21. win an international choral competition

     23. be in a rehearsal of the Philippine Madrigal Singers (March 2006, UP Diliman)

     26. go tubing in Vang Vieng, Laos (August 2016)

     27. ride the highest and most extreme roller coasters of famous theme parks  in the world (July 2006 Europa Park, Germany, Six Flags, Los Angeles, CA. August 2006 Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio)

     29. behold the Pyramids of Giza while riding a camel

     32. teach in a village in Africa and mingle with the locals there

     33. experience the altitude and temperature of Everest Base Camp (EBC) and behold Mt. Everest

     34. be featured in a travel magazine, TV show or radio program

     35. stroll along Hollywood Walk of Fame and witness the famed HOLLYWOOD  sign at Griffith Park, LA, USA (July 2006)

     36. cross the Golden Gate in San Francisco, USA (August 2006)

     37. cruise on an expensive yacht (August 2006, Lake Michigan, USA)

     38. see, feel, touch, and photograph all the New 7 Wonders of the World and be amazed by their glory

     39. go on a boat ride to the underground river in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines (April 1996

    40. visit the Porsche Factory and Museum in Stuttgart, Germany (July 2005)

    42. go on a trekking trip on the Himalayas in Nepal 

    43. walk where Jesus walked (literally)

    44. travel through the Outback in the Land Down Under (Australia)

    45. relax while beholding Taj Mahal with my girlfriend/wife

    46. touch and feel the infamous Berlin Wall (July 2005, Germany)

    47. photograph the amazing, wonderful creation of God in Yosemite National Park, USA ala Ansel Adams

     48. explore the vast land of Mongolia and ride horses with the nomads there (October 2015)

     49. have a retreat in the temples on the mountains of Tibet

     50. travel from Valencia, Bukidnon to Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines with my own 1940s Volkswagen Beetle


All of these can only be possible through the gracious and merciful God, the giver and source of every good and perfect gift.
