My Top 10 Favorite Cities in Europe

by Regin Reyno

Europa, every time I come across that word- beauty, elegance, sophistication, fashion, culture, classical music, high-cost, history, art, food, convenience- those words come to my mind. So when the San Beda College Chorale were looking for a male singer to join them in their European choral competition, festivals, and tour in 2005, I didn't hesitate to join even if it means sacrificing my studies. As a result, I became richer, not in material things, but in experiences and knowledge.

It was through the leadership of the world-renowned choral arranger/composer and one of the best choral conductors/choirmasters in the Philippines, Robert Delgado, that made the tour possible. I didn't spend a single cent for that tour because the choir borne all the expenses. So, a European Tour for free. I thank God for giving me that blessing and sir Robert Delgado as His instrument in imparting that blessing. I will talk more about that in other post.

So I was able to tour Europe in 2005 and 2006. Europe is indeed a very very very beautiful continent. And as usual, we have our favorites. Here are my favorite cities in Europe.

The Greatest Traveler I Have Ever Met

by Regin Reyno

As a traveler and not just a sightseer or tourist, I am always amazed by travelers who do extraordinary journeys. That includes the distance traveled, the mode of transportation, the attitude, how adventurous the travel was, and the extraordinary experiences.

Nikon Glass Sample Shots

by Regin Reyno

One of the most essential things to bring when traveling is a camera. I cannot travel without a camera. Be it a phone camera, digicam, film camera or a DSLR.

So last October 2010, I bought a Nikon D3000 Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera. Nikon really satisfied me. Just like the ad of Canon, it is delighting me always. Here are some of my shots using different Nikon bodies and my D3000 with different Nikon lenses-which are known for their precision, quality, vibrant color, accuracy, and sharpness.

Thai Asean News (TAN) Network Meet and Greet

by Regin Reyno

One of my favorite pastimes is watching cable TV. I especially love to watch sports, news, and documentaries. And I really hate ABS-CBN, the local TV station in the Philippines owned by oligarchies-due to bias news reporting and degrading, nonsense TV programs. I am fortunate to have a free cable in my apartment.

One of my favorite channels in this cable is the Thai-ASEAN News Network, or TAN Network. It is an English TV station in Thailand. So being in Thailand, it’s great to have this local TV station in English. They have lots of educational programs. The news are fresh and their correspondents speak good English. My favorite show is The Travel Show hosted by Dale Lawrence. As what the title implies, it talks about travelling, which is the reason why it is my favorite.

SULADS, Inspirational Men of God

         by Regin Reyno

Yesterday-Sabbath day- I was blessed by the coming of the SULADS to Ramkamhaeng International Seventh-Day Adventist Church at Bangkok, Thailand. "Sulads" means brother in the Manobo dialect. Manobo is one of the hill tribes of southern Philippines. It is also an acronym for Socio-economic Uplift Literacy Anthropological and Developmental Services. So basically, this is an organization of missionary volunteers to the Manobos and some other hill tribes and ethnic groups in southern Philippines. They are based in Mountain View College, a Seventh-Day Adventist College in Valencia, Bukidnon.

Three of the SULADS Quartet with sir Daryll Famisaran
Sir Daryll Famisaran, the director and one of the founders of SULADS led their team who came to Thailand, accompanied by his wife and three of the SULADS Quartet. The SULADS Quartet gave the special music during the divine service. Sir Daryll gave the sermon while his wife was in charge of the powerpoint illustrations.
