Recommended Accommodation: Sea Cocoon Hotel

El Nido, Palawan in the Philippines is paradise. So, if you haven’t been there, I encourage you to go visit. Add it in your bucket list. It’s simply a wonderful place.

And upon visiting, I recommend you to stay at Sea Cocoon Hotel. We stayed there for 3 days and 3 nights. It was awesome. It’s one of the reasons why we enjoyed our vacation in El Nido.

"The journey is just as important as the destination"

We stayed overnight at Jack’s Place, waking up with what we feared, 0 mosquito bites. We took advantage of the morning and walked up to the view point, revealing a 360 angle of the twin beaches. After, we were expecting our driver to collect us at 3pm so we sat by the beach with tropical drink to hand. To our surprise, and thankfully, he came early. This gave us time to check out Nagkalit-kalit waterfalls on our way back to El Nido. 

We met our lovely guide, by a stall located on the road back, you can’t miss it. With a warm welcome and a flick of his top knot, au natural (they know how to do it without looking stupid)… “We have at least 9 rivers to cross” he said whilst we looked down at our poor choice of footwear. He led us towards a field where a local farmer had set up camp, after paying a 10 peso fee to get through we began.

Reasons Why Nacpan Beach is One of the Best Beaches in the World

Nacpan Beach in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines made it to the top 10 on CNN’s Travelers’ Choice Award for the World’s Best Beaches. That’s pretty impressive especially considering the number of beaches in this world.

It was also named by travel blogger, LeBlanc, the World’s Most Beautiful Beach. 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so they say. So what may be beautiful for Christian LeBlanc may not be so beautiful for some. That title is highly subjective. Nevertheless, it got my attention. So the next thing I know, we were arranging a trip going to Nacpan Beach in Palawan.

To be honest, when I watched that video, I wasn’t really impressed by the beach. It was shot during an overcast day, so its real beauty wasn’t captured. I also searched photos from the internet, and they all looked like a normal beach. So I don’t really understand why it was named World’s Most Beautiful. 

That’s one of the reasons why I decided to go there. To experience it for myself. To see, why it is the most beautiful in the world and one of the best.

Just last week, I had the opportunity to fully experienced it. Not just see, but to actually experience it with my five senses. Not just a day trip, but stayed there, as well.

And here’s my verdict: Nacpan Beach in El Nido, Palawan is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve been and as of the moment, my best beach ever!

Here are the reasons why:

1. It is long and wide

The beach is 4 km. long. and it is very wide. You have lots of space to play games, sunbathe, build sand castle, or just roll. The length of a beach is one huge factor, at least for me, to be considered a beautiful beach. There are many beautiful beaches out there, but they are just a small strip of land. This one is the real deal. Jogging in the morning barefooted? Sure, you can do that here.

After our El NIdo Tour C Island Hopping, at about 4:30pm, we hopped into a van. A huge Toyota Grandia, provided for us by our tour agency, Northern Hope Tours. It was just the 5 of us in that huge, comfortable van. We were going to the world’s most beautiful beach, according to famous travel vlogger, LeBlanc.

Nacpan Beach in El Nido, Palawan is considered by many travelers to be one of the most beautiful in the world. It is, in fact, no. 10 in CNN’s World’s Best Beaches.

We were excited to see for ourselves what this beach has to offer. Is it really beautiful, is it worth the 45-minute drive from town proper?   

Puerto Princesa City Tour

As we looked through our plane’s window, we saw clear, calm, blue waters. We were approaching Puerto Princesa airport. The plane was about to land but I still saw waters all around. It felt like the plane’s going to land on water. 

We were so excited upon seeing the vast, blue, clear waters. We felt a great adventure lies before us. We planned to explore the islands of El Nido, famous for its island hopping, and considered by many to be the best in the world.

But before that, we have 1 night and 2 days in Puerto Princesa, originally designed to visit the Underground River, one of the 7 Wonders of Nature and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our tour agency, upon seeing our itinerary decided we do a City Tour, as well. It sounds good, so we agreed.
